Once there was a man. This man loved the outdoors. This man had a wife, but sadly, his wife did not provide the kind of outdoor companionship he craved.
Then. This man had a son. And pretty soon this son was old enough to be that companion.
So the man and his son left the girls behind and went on a backpacking trip.
(It must be noted, the pose of the girl.)
So off to mirror lake they went.
The boy carried his own pack. . .almost the whole way.
They hiked and hiked and walked and walked until they reached. . .
this:
They were blown away by the beauty of this:
After setting up the tent and a nice little dinner, it was soon time for this:
The next morning the man made the boy some oatmeal. But the boy could hardly eat.
Mostly due to this:
After enjoying the morning view of this:
And playing with all that Mirror Lake had to offer
The boy became distracted, once again, by this:
And could hardly believe his good fortune with their discovery.
The crawdads kept the boy busy, while the man packed up camp.
And then they headed home.
And were greeted by this:
(please don't be scared friends. It's me. I just had a baby, that's all.)
The man is sure glad he gets to share his love for the outdoors with his boy.
But the boy is pretty lucky himself.
the end.

The picture of Mckay in front of the trailhead looks just like you as a little girl.
The picture of Ellery in her little swimsuit in "the pose" is just priceless. I laughed out loud.
